How Our Network Works

Request an estimate

Who You Talk To

Carterstyle Garage Doors does not employ repair people. When you send a request, we pass it to an independent garage door provider in our network. That provider is the one who calls you, visits your home and does the job.

What They Will Ask You

Have a few facts ready. It helps the provider plan.

  • What is the door doing? Stuck, loud, crooked, or not moving?
  • Do you hear the opener motor but see no movement?
  • Is a spring visibly broken or is there a gap in the coil?
  • Is the door off its track?
  • How old is the door, and is it steel, wood or another material?
  • Do you want a repair or a new door?

Photos can help if the provider asks for them.

Questions to Ask the Provider

A good provider expects questions. Try these.

  • Are you licensed and insured where I live?
  • Will you give me a written quote before work starts?
  • What does the quote include: parts, labor, haul-away?
  • Is the repair worth it, or would a new door or new garage door opener make more sense?
  • What warranty comes with the parts and the work?

If you have a spring or cable problem, ask how they handle the tension safely. Do not try this one yourself.

The Decision Is Yours

An estimate is not a contract. Take your time. Compare quotes if you want. Ask about options, such as a repair now versus a replacement later. Some policies may cover sudden damage, so check your policy. Providers can often help document damage for a claim.
